Computation Arts

Computation Arts students are exposed to an inter- disciplinary curriculum. They study the cultural and political implications of a society that is increasingly wired and networked. Using modern day objects and software, students develop critical thinking and deep understanding about the technological mediums and their materiality through their mastering in multidisciplinary fields and creative projects aimed to push the boundaries of what they allow you to do. Students learn to integrate electronics, sensors, and physical computing into digital artworks while creating their own tools to gain deep knowledge of what can be achieved instead of using software which becomes obsolete through time.

Design

To create a successful design, one must understand how to solve culture, economic, and environmental problems in the world. In the Design program, we look to solve these problems through visual communication of these important messages, no matter the type of design: posters, books, websites, applications, tables, chairs, and much more. Working with both our hands in tangible media and on the computer in digital work, we strive to consider both form and function to create work that challenges the viewer to think hard about their position in society.
