Don't you believe me?

by Diana Seluna Fernandez

This is a carousel book for children. The book is made up of five different scenes and each one has a light that turns on when the book is opened. The illustrations tell the story of a little girl who moves to the city after living in the countryside. The book does not have any text because the goal is to let each viewer imagine the plot of the story.

The illustrations were made using screen printing. Each illustration has three different layers, creating a certain sense of depth. Two different kinds of papers were used: the background and first layer were made with Unryu paper, a kind of transparent paper. The other two layers are made on Johannot paper, a material that can be easily folded.
