Enterrement de Vie de Jeune

Enterrement de Vie de Jeune is a hypothetical and virtual memorial/burial of young individuals on the web. As we are confronted with pressures to have a job and plan out our lives while still in university, many of us feel like we are living the adult life prematurely. We have sacrificed free time and socializing to dedicate ourselves to our future careers. With the management of our numerous roles - school, work, family, friends, projects, volunteering, etc.- comes the death of our youth. I've began to build a website commemorating that loss by asking friends to take a selfie that reflects the last selfie they would take of themselves if they died tomorrow. When you enter the platform, a soundtrack plays according to the day of the week you are hovering over. When you click on a day, you are directed to a poem about the person and their disappearance, accompanied with a unique soundtrack. At the end of the poem, there is a period which you can click on to arrive on the page with the selfie in the middle. In the background is a picture of a section of their room, and clickable flies are moving around the page.
