Aubergine
by Catherine Hénault
Aubergine is a combination of independent comics following a character as she goes through her phone app. We read her thoughts on social media and online dating behaviour patterns. The story has a comical view on technology, addiction and human (or not so human) social interactions on cellular devices.
The illustrations are hand drawn with ink pens, colourized on Photoshop, printed and assembled using the perfect bound technique which was done by hand. The cover shows black ink on black paper, echoing a cellphone’s black screen.
Concordia University Produced under Patrick McEown supervision in a special topic drawing class, this project was meant to mix graphic novel genres.
