X&M
Cassandra Carosello
X&M explores different typefaces found in public signage, along with dimension and character construction by turning 2D letterforms into 3D models. The concept is to collect characters from two different typefaces and represent them in a 3D form according to their history. The use of wood is inspired by the Mesquite typeface’s creation as part of the Adobe Wood Type series, and the acrylic is inspired by the contemporary take of the unknown typeface. Metal fasteners are used for an industrial look.
