Movement’s Moments

Sarah Barone

Movement’s Moments is a series of works that reimagines the subjective and objective nature of our body movements. Highlighting scientific representations and new ways of perceiving the nature of intricate mechanisms necessary for simple movements, this series features fundamentally interactive representations of the communication in the area of the brain responsible for the coordination of movements.

The series addresses the subjectivity of our memory of movements, which trace the lacy architecture of our plastic brain from infancy until young adulthood. Each iteration evokes a lyrical sense of lifetime and movement, virtually stopping time to provide insight to the story of our neurological refinement of body movements.
