PROJECT ILLUMILAINE
Created by: KATY BENEDICT, MADDIE THOMPSON
Program: Computation Arts
About:
Project Illumilaine is an interactive scarf that when worn reinvents human communication. The scarf is designed to project the wearer’s voice (and atmospheric ambient noise) through light. Equipped with a small micro- phone, Project Illumilaine re-imagines a whole range of possible outputs that can afford us to understand our bodies in a new individual way by translating its characteristics into different sensorial interpretations. When worn, the scarf creates a wearable interactive experience in which the wearer’s actions and verbal gestures are translated to an abstract form of visual “body language” displayed through light.
