About:

The Brutalist Chair is inspired from the late modernist era of architecture known as Brutalism. From the inclined tower of the Olympic Stadium to the hard angles of Habitat 67, Brutalism has been imprinted into my upbringing in Montreal. This chair is a vernacular interpretation of the architectural language of the Drapeau era. Its physical weight is reinforced by its dominating visual presence in a room, reflective of its building style on the Montreal skyline.
