Tina Lise Ng

My name is Tina Lise Ng and I am into wildlife preservation. Since finding a mink pelt in the basement of a costume shop, my work has involved the creation of artifacts that address environmental issues such as declining biodiversity and human/animal relationships. In the past I have created works that explore ideas related to technology, science fiction and hybridism as well. A prominent feature in my work is the integration of hands-on crafts with digital media and when I work with fabric I am reminded that a keyboard and mouse can sometimes limit my creative potential. Often times I utilize elements from children's books and toys. In other words, I'd prefer to see things in the eyes of a child if I could. When things are going well, I am filled with a sense of relief and sometimes feel the colour green suggests notions of wealth and greed instead of representing grass and trees. I would like to create work that will in someway help our planet recover from the damages of human exploitation following the completion of my degree. Which is to say, I plan to save the world with design. And by the way animals don't need us, we need them.
